About Sitting
If Boarding isn’t the right fit or we are full, KCS can set you up with an in-home Kitty Sitter. Typically a sit is about $45/for 1x day. Once you have filled out the Sit Request below, we will respond with a firm quote for your particular sitter. If you would like to move ahead at that time, we will set you up with the Sitter to meet.
While we trust all of the Sitters we use, and have never had a single incident, please know that the Sitters we refer do not work “for” KCS when sitting, and establish their own rules/rates/insurance/etc. Some sitters are already known to our clients because they have worked at KCS in the past. We will continue to only refer sitters we know and trust.
Sitting Vs. Boarding
Sitting is good for extremely skittish cats who would be traumatized in a new place. If your cat is social you might consider boarding where cats will receive an abundance of love and attention from sunrise to sundown. If your cat is an escapist at home, they are likely best here behind our double & triple doors at “Ft Knox” (as we are affectionately known). Consider if sitting or boarding is best for your cat. We don’t want any lonely kitties at home, and we don’t want you to come home to a soiled couch either.
Sitting Rates
While rates can vary depending on the sitter, distance, number of cats and special requests, once daily visits are typically $40-45 a day depending if a peak period or not.
Deposites & Cancelations
KCS charges a 35% deposit on the total cost of each sit. Deposits are refundable with 7 days advance notice , less a $50 cancellation fee. If you cancel with less than 7 days notice, you forfeit your 35% deposit. Sitters hold their time for your kitty and still require payment if less than 7 days notice is given.
Process (meeting your sitter, etc.)
- Fill out the short Reservation Request below, so we may send you a firm quote. Every time you want a sit in the future, you will fill out this same online Reservation Request form.
- Once you accept our quote, you will fill out a New Client Form, specific to Sitting.
- KCS will bill a 35% deposit immediately.
- You will then receive a confirmation, with your sitter CC’ed. You can set up a time to meet your sitter directly with them (this is the first paid visit).
- Sitters ask for 2 keys at time of meeting. KCS stores the 2nd key in the event of a lost key or 911.
- When the sit is complete, you will be billed for the remainder and be given an opportunity to tip.
